Berfrois

Orchards, I

Print

by Sumita Chakraborty

a free rendition of Rilke’s Vergers, I

this evening my heart makes sing

angels who remember

a voice close to mine

by too much silence tempted

rises and decides

never again to return

tender and intrepid

with what will she join
